The mission of the Tarpon Springs Housing Authority is to enhance the Tarpon Springs community by developing and professionally managing housing that is affordable for low to moderate income individuals and families. We seek to nurture our neighborhood and residents by creating and supporting services that promote stability and self-sufficiency for the people we serve. We are committed to operating in an efficient, ethical and professional manner while forming partnerships with our residents and appropriate agencies which help us carry out our mission. It’s our policy to serve our customers without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, sexual orientation, having AIDS, physical handicap, or disability.
The Tarpon Springs Housing Authority’s area of operations by definition pursuant Chapter 421.03 is the City of Springs and the area within five (5) miles of the territorial boundaries thereof.
The housing authority is located in proximity to public schools, shopping, county-wide transportation, hospitals, social service providers and City parks all within a couple miles from the beautiful Gulf of Mexico waterfront.
The Tarpon Springs Housing Authority is responsible for the management and operation of its local Public Housing program which is administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development . The Tarpon Springs Housing Authority manages housing for low-income residents at rents they can afford. Residents’ rents are based upon income.
The Tarpon Springs Housing Authority manages affordable properties. We provide other services that include: youth development through the Cops N’ Kids programs and home share opportunities through our Home Share Pinellas program.

Based upon the availability schedules of the current members, the Tarpon Springs Housing Authority Board of Commissioners meetings are currently held at 9:00 am on the third Friday of the month, unless posted otherwise. Meetings are typically held at: 305 North Ring Avenue Tarpon Springs, FL 34689. *Due to COVID-19, please contact us if you wish to attend a meeting.
Anyone wanting to appeal an official decision made on any subject at a Tarpon Springs Housing Authority Board meeting must have a verbatim record of the meeting that includes the testimony and evidence on which the appeal is based. The use of illegal drugs is not tolerated in public housing and nor is threatening criminal behavior. The Tarpon Springs Housing Authority may choose not to accept applicants or permit residents to remain in residence who engage in any criminal activity that threatens the health, safety, or right to peaceful enjoyment of the premises by other residents, management staff, or by persons residing in the immediate vicinity of the Tarpon Springs Housing Authority premises.
