Welcome to the Tarpon Springs Housing Authority. Our goal is to enhance the Tarpon Springs community by developing and professionally managing quality housing that is affordable for low to moderate income individuals and families.
We seek to empower our residents and the neighborhoods within this beautiful City of Tarpon Springs. The Housing Authority is located in proximity to public schools, shopping, county-wide transportation, hospitals, social service providers and City parks all within a couple miles from the beautiful Gulf of Mexico waterfront.
A few of the greatest achievements led by the Tarpon Springs Housing Authority Board of Commissioners and leadership team has been the development of three beautiful affordable housing communities within the City of Tarpon Springs: Oak Ridge Estates for individuals and families of all ages, The Villages at Tarpon for seniors aged 55 or older and Eagle Ridge Apartments a new development that is family oriented.

We are committed to operating in an efficient, ethical and professional manner while forming partnerships with our residents and local agencies which help us carry out our mission.
In 2005, the Tarpon Springs Housing Authority’s leadership created a 501c3 public nonprofit corporation instrumentality named The Local Community Housing Corporation. The nonprofit corporation expands the mission of the Housing Authority by managing, providing, and increasing affordable housing opportunities in addition to facilitating services and programming that promote family stability and upward mobility for greater quality of life. The Local Community Housing Corporation cultivates strategic partnerships, strengthens resources and develops innovative services for housing residents and the immediate community.
At the Tarpon Springs Housing Authority, we are committed to providing more than just affordable housing — we create pathways to stability, opportunity, and long-term well-being. Our mission is to manage and provide affordable housing while facilitating services that promote stability for children, individuals, and families, and support upward mobility for a better quality of life.
We proudly offer a range of supportive programs, including the Cops ‘n Kids Youth Center, a licensed childcare center that delivers high-quality after-school and summer camp programs. In partnership with the Tarpon Springs Police Department, this initiative instills strong personal values and empowers youth and families to lead healthy, successful lives.
Through our Home Share Pinellas program, we are helping to bridge the housing gap by matching individuals in need of affordable rent with homeowners willing to share space. These long-term housing matches, often lasting 3 to 10 years, provide a stable and dignified alternative to the ever-increasing costs of private market rentals. Renters include adult students, individuals on fixed incomes, and small families, all seeking safe, comfortable, and secure housing.
We believe that everyone deserves the peace of mind that comes with long-term housing security — not the uncertainty of annual rent hikes. At the heart of our work is a commitment to dignity, community, and opportunity for all.
The Tarpon Springs Housing Authority’s area of operations by definition pursuant Chapter 421.03 is the City of Springs and the area within five (5) miles of the territorial boundaries thereof.
