Cops’ N Kids Youth Center has been serving the Tarpon Springs community since 1994. Operated by The Local Community Housing Corporation, an entity of the Tarpon Springs Housing Authority in partnership with the Tarpon Springs Police Department, the program provides a safe, supportive space for local youth.
Offering a free Daily After School Program and Summer Camp, Cops’ N Kids combines learning, fun, and mentorship. Children and teens enjoy hands-on activities, academic support, and positive relationships with trusted adult mentors, including local law enforcement officers.
More than just a place to go after school, Cops’ N Kids helps build brighter futures by encouraging personal growth, strengthening community ties, and giving every child a safe place to learn, play, and thrive.
Home Share Pinellas has been helping older adults find stable, affordable housing for over 19 years by thoughtfully matching homeowners and renters as roommates. Through a detailed screening and matching process, the program connects homeowners, often on fixed incomes, with renters in need of below-market housing. This arrangement provides mutual financial benefits and, just as importantly, emotional support.
Living in a safe, shared home environment reduces stress, isolation, and anxiety while promoting dignity, social connection, and overall well-being especially for those aging in place. In 2024 alone, Home Share Pinellas created 46 matches, helping 92 individuals gain housing security. Of these, 67% were homeless or at risk of homelessness, and 93% were over the age of 55. The average rent was $690 per month, and matches typically lasted 34 months.
By preventing housing instability, Home Share Pinellas enhances the lives and health outcomes of older adults throughout the community.
The Tarpon Springs Housing Authority has a unique, warm and professional culture as we work each and every day to help individuals and families obtain quality long-term housing that meets their needs and goals.
